Check a firewall isn't blocking your Medical Objects

Download the Medical Objects connection tester here

Unzip the program and run it.

Select only "TestPracticeServer" as below and press the green play button at the top.

Enter the Port and IP provided to you by the MO help desk when prompted

NOTE: If the test is going to fail the program will appear to lock up. Wait and it will start responding again when the test is complete.

A Pass is shown below:

For further tests you may select the other tests and run them but they may not be compulsory for your setup.


Further Firewall Details

In/Out Traffic:

Transport Layer

TCP:

  • Application Layer
    • HTTP: The actual routing of Medical Objects messages is performed over this protocol.
    • SMTP: This is less important. Error states of the software are transported over this protocol (Generally to a local SMTP server for relay to the Medical Objects helpdesk)


Internal LAN:

Transport Layer

TCP:

  • Application Layer
    • HTTP: Port 2511 is used internally to view the MO delivery report on the local network

UDP:

    • Port 21734 is used by the Trinity to local local Capricorn download clients to route their outgoing messages.
