Configure Medical-Objects Capricorn and Medical Director 3.12 to import electronic results

Overview:

A procedure to provide the configuration that will enable importing of electronic results and the provision of acknowledgements.

Installing the Medical Objects Capricorn

1. Download the latest Capricorn from the following link

http://download.medical-objects.com.au/


2. The link on the download page looks like the following

3. The following window will appear

4. Click on Save


5. The following Save As window will appear. Save the Setup.exe in the directory C:\MO

NOTE: If the directory does not exist create it.

6. Once you have clicked Save, the following download screens will appear

7. Uncheck [ ] Close this dialog box when download completes


8. After it has been downloaded, click Run

9. At the Security Warning, click Run

10. Once you have clicked Run, the installation process starts


11. Click Next

14. The following window will appear

15. The Setup wizard is now complete

16. Click Finish

Registration Process

1. Once the setup is complete you will need to enter the Token or Serial key that you will acquire from the Medical-Objects help desk

The Token or Serial Key can be emailed to you.

2. From the email, copy the token, click the blue Paste Token link

This will automatically fill in the Registration Token for you.

3. Click Enter


4. Once you have clicked Enter, the PGP Key Generation Window will appear

5. Enter pgp in lowercase into both fields. Then click Next


6. Once you have clicked Next, the following window will appear

7. At this window just type anything to make the blue bar move to 100%, then click Next

NOTE: What you type should be in lowercase.


8. Once you click Next, the following window will appear

9. Click Finish


NOTE: The main installation is now complete. The HL7 tray icon will now be shown in the system tray located at right hand bottom of the desktop.

Configuring Medical Objects Capricorn

1. Double click the HL7 tray icon

Note: If the Capricorn HL7 tray icon is not visible, open Capricorn from the Start Menu > All Programs > Medical-Objects > Medical Objects Capricorn or from the C:\MO\Capricorn\Capricorn.exe.


2. The Log window is displayed

3. Click the Edit Server Properties icon

4. Click on the Integration Options

5. Set the ACK Management path to the local Import folder on the server or the network path on a workstation, that points to the server import folder

for example:

Medical Director 3

(Capricorn installed on the Server) --> C:\Program Files\Health Communication network\Messages\Out\Acks\

(Capricorn installed on the Workstation) --> \\Server\HCNMSGS\Out\Acks\


NOTE: If the folders do not exist you must create them.


6. Select Server Parameters from the left panel

7. Under the Message Output Directory (main) set the results import path

The path can be different depending on where Capricorn is installed for example:

Medical Director 3

(Capricorn installed on the Server) --> C:\Program Files\Health Communication network\Messages\In\MO\

(Capricorn installed on the Workstation) --> \\Server\HCNMSGS\In\MO\

NOTE: If the folders do not exist you must create them.


8. The configuration is complete. Click Apply and OK

Configuring Medical Director Incoming Correspondence and Acknowledgements

1. Open Medical Director (MD) 3.12

2. Once Medical Director (MD) has opened select Tools then Manage Communications...

4. Select the Setup Data Transfer Tab.

5. Click on Add to add a new rule for Medical Objects. If Medical Objects is already in the list please ensure it is configured correctly (see next step)


Description: Please use Medical Objects

Category: Please use Medical Objects

Note: If not in the drop down box please type Medical Objects into the box

Import Folder: Please point to the same folders we created on step 7 of the Capricorn configuration.

Export Folder: Please point to the same folders we created on step 6 of the Capricorn configuration.

Note: For Import and Export Folders please use Network UNC Paths EG: \\Server\hcnmsgs\In\MO and \\Server\hcnmsgs\In\Out

Check Boxes: Please Tick ALL four check boxes

Click on OK.

11. The Medical Objects rule has now been created click on close in the bottom right hand-side.

12. Once you click on close you will be prompted to save your work please click on save.

NOTE: The configuration is now complete for Medical Director.
