The first step in this process is determining what type of installation of Capricorn is installed. There are 2 options for this:
a) Service Installation (For Server Installations). The HL7 Tray Icon is not present. See: Service Installation
b) Tray Icon Installation (For Workstation Installations). The HL7 Tray Icon is present as shown below. See: Tray Icon Installation
Service Installation
In the case of a Service Installation we will need to run the Tray Icon to access the Configuration Window. As mentioned previously we have 2 different types of installations, because of this we cannot run a service and a tray icon at the same time. So in Service Installation, we will stop the service and open the Tray Icon to access the configuration settings. Once the settings are configured we will close down the Tray Icon and restart the service.
1. Click the Start Menu and then Run
2. Type services.msc and click OK
3. The services window will be displayed
4. In the list locate CAPRICORN
5. Under Status, it should show as Started
6. Right click CAPRICORN and left click Stop from the Menu
7. The following window will display the progress
8. Now the Capricorn service has stopped
9. Start Capricorn form the Start Menu > All Programs > Medical-Objects > Medical Objects Capricorn or from the C:\MO\Capricorn\Capricorn.exe
10. The Tray Icon should be now visible in the system tray
11. Follow directions for Tray Icon Installation
IMPORTANT NOTE: Now you can follow the steps in Tray Icon Installation to import the Location Certificates. Once the Location Certificates have been imported you will need to shutdown the Tray Icon and Restart the Service again.
Tray Icon Installation
1. Double click the HL7 tray icon.
NOTE: If the Capricorn HL7 tray icon is not visible, open Capricorn from the Start Menu > All Programs > Medical-Objects > Medical Objects Capricorn or from the C:\MO\Capricorn\Capricorn.exe
2. The Log window is displayed
3. Click the Edit Server Properties icon
4. The Login screen will appear as shown below

11. Locate the Certificates and select one of the certificates and click Open
12. Once you have clicked Open you will be required to enter a Passphrase. The Passphrase should have accompanied the CD when delivered by HESA
13. Once you have completed the process from Steps 8-12 for the other certificate they will be displayed as follows
14. Before you click OK, select the cert under Signing Certificate and then click the 'key' icon on the toolbar. This will set it as default and make the certificate bold.
15. Click OK to close the PKI Key Manager window
16. Once you click OK a Validation Error window will appear. Click the Proceed button
17. This will take you back to the Configuration Editor window shown below. Click OK to complete the procedure
NOTE: Remember if you had a Service Installation you will need to close the Tray Icon and restart the Service.
