This page explains the database user rules

There are 3 users that can connected to the Firebird databases.

MEDOBJAPP, MEDOBJDBA and SYSDBA

The MEDOBJAPP user is used for:- Normal Equator operations.

This is the user that the equator uses to connect to the database while it is running and performing day to day activities.

The MEDOBJDBA User is used for:- database Backup, restore, shutdown, and bring online.

The equator will automatically use this user when a backup and restore inline is triggered or other administration tasks.

The MEDOBJDBA user should NOT be configured in the Equator configuration page at all.

Please Note: The SYSDBA user is only to be used under advice from the Medical-Objects Support Team.

The SYSDBA user should NOT be used to connect the equator to the database or to connect to the database through IBExpert or FlameRobin.
