Trinityplus
Introduction
Trinity Plus is the advanced Medical-Objects referral client that allows practitioners to send referrals through the Medical-Objects messaging system with attachments, patient history and smart forms.
Specific recipients can be configured to automatically have select observation results sent to them. The sent message can also have files (such as .jpg images or .pdf documents) attached to it.

Installing Trinity Plus
Installing Trinity Plus is a simple matter of running the install application. You can safely leave all default install options as is, or you can set the install options as necessary.
Trinity Plus will then be placed into the appropriate directory and set to start up automatically when you log onto the computer.
Required Supporting Applications
There are three pieces of software that are required for Trinity Plus to run at its full potential.
1. Trinity Plus 2. Capricorn 3. Equator
Trinity Plus requires access to an appropriate version of Medical-Objects Capricorn. While Capricorn can be accessed via your network, Trinity Plus runs better if Capricorn is run locally. This means that if it is possible to run your Trinity Plus on the same computer that Capricorn is installed on, you should do so. However, it should not slow you down if they are installed on separate computers. Capricorn must, in turn, be able to access an appropriate version of Equator that needs to be installed on the same computer as the Capricorn.
Configuring Trinity Plus
Trinity Plus will attempt to run "straight from the box". Under most cases this will work, however you may need to configure Capricorn so that Trinity plus and Capricorn can communicate.
Configuring Capricorn to allow Trinity Plus access
There are two required Capricorn configuration options which must be set correctly for Trinity Plus to communicate with Capricorn properly.
Demographic Source
In Capricorn open the Configuration form then select the demographic source page. Ensure that the "Use HL7 Patient Demographics Source" button is checked. You must also tell Capricorn which server will supply the demographics data. Once you have the server selected press the apply button to save your changes.
- Capricorn Demographic Source Window
Satellite EHR
In Capricorn open the Configuration form then select the Satellite EHR page. Ensure the "Satellite Active" check box is ticked and the Satellite Server combo box has a server selected. This server is normally the same as the server selected on the demographic source page. Press the Apply button to save the changes. It is recommended that you test the connection before proceeding further.
- Capricorn Satellite EHR Window
Testing Capricorn access to demographic data
In Capricorn open the Configuration form then select the Satellite EHR page. Enter the data of a known patient and press the "TestPID" button. If Capricorn is able to access the satellite data, then a message dialog will show you a brief summary of the returned data. You can also broaden the search by leaving some of the search fields blank. eg. Just having the given name field filled with "Larry" will return all the patients with the first name Larry.
NOTE: If there are too may records found then an error message may be shown. This is OK, it still means that communication between Capricorn and Equator have been established.

Using Trinity Plus
Capturing Cut and paste
Once installed, Trinity Plus will sit quietly in the back ground of the computer monitoring any cut or copy operations. Trinity Plus can detect a formatted patient name (highlighted red in the image below) and a formatted Provider Number (highlighted blue in the image below).
^ Valid referral data showing a detected Patient Name and Provider Number
If Trinity Plus is able to detect a patient name, then a splash form is displayed at the bottom right of the screen.
If Trinity Plus is unable to detect a patient name then it assumes that this copy and paste is not a referral. You can override this assumption by clicking on the "Capture from Clipboard" menu item on the tray menu (see below)
NOTE: The instructions to change the text that Trinity Plus uses as a trigger to pop up (eg re:) can also be found further on in this document. See the "Reset Search String" section for more details.
The Tray Icon Menu
The Tray Item menu is accessed by clicking (left or right click) on the Trinity Plus Tray Icon
- Tray with Trinity Plus Highlighted
- Trinity Plus tray with menu open
Logout
When Trinity Plus is used for the first time after it has loaded it will ask you to choose which doctor / provider you wish to login as. Clicking the logout menu item logs the current user out of Trinity Plus so that you can login as a different provider.
This is useful if more than one doctor wishes to share the same Trinity Plus installation.
Capture From Clipboard
The Capture from Clipboard menu item will take whatever is currently stored in the Windows clipboard and place it into Trinity Plus. You can then assign a provider to receive the new referral. This item is unavailable if the clipboard is empty or if the clipboard contains data of a non-text format ( eg an image)
Create a new Message(Blank)
This item opens up the Trinity Plus main form without any data. If the form is already open then pressing this button will discard all unsaved information that has already been entered.
Provider Lookup
This is used as a quick and easy way to retrieve provider details from the server. When pressed, the provider search dialog is presented.
^ Provider Search Window
If a provider is selected, then the provider's details are displayed.

Provider Delivery Status
The Provider Delivery Status allows you to search for a doctor or clinic and get a list of all Doctors / Providers that are at that clinic and are online with Medical-Objects.
Reset Search String
Trinity Plus looks for specific text in a copied document to let it know that this may be a referral to send. This text is known as the search string (or trigger).
The "Reset Search String" option allows you to change what term within a copied document will trigger Trinity Plus to pop up and ask if you want to send this document.
Trinity Plus examines the clipboard and, if the clipboard contains text, then it looks for a match to the search string. The search string is not case sensitive, eg "REFERRAL", will match "referral". If the search string is found, the Trinity Plus slash screen will open and you may double click it to initiate a referral send.
NOTE: By default the search term will be set to "re:" re: is not only the default search string, it is also what tells Trinity Plus that the following text is a patient name.
For example "re: Bob Jones" (without quotes) will automatically fill out the referral details with the Patient First name: Bob and Last name: Jones
However, you can set it to more specific words like "referral" or "operational report". This helps in customizing Trinity Plus to your Clinic's existing templates.

Load PKI Location Certificate into Capricorn
Trinity Plus, like Trinity, offers the convenient option of importing your clinic's Location (or site) certificate directly into your Medical-Objects Capricorn system. Your clinic's Location (or site) certificate is used by Medical-Objects mainly for receiving Queensland Health Electronic Discharge Summaries.
To import this certificate through Trinity Plus simply right click on the Trinity Plus tray icon.
Now hover the mouse over "Admin"
Now click on "Load PKI Location Certificate into Capricorn"
You will then be prompted with a screen that looks like the image below.
You can now click on the yellow folder icon on the right of this window to browse for the location where both the signing and encryption parts of the certificate are located.
Alternatively you can type in the path if you know it.
Once the paths are inserted into the "Encryption Certificate File" and "Signing Certificate File" fields you can enter the password for your clinic's location certificate into the "HIC Supplied Password" field.
When you enter the password it will appear as ******** this is normal.
Now click OK.
A window will now pop up saying "Files Imported"
Click ok on this pop up and the window will disappear.
You have successfully imported your clinic's Location (or site) certificate into the Medical-Objects Capricorn software installed at your clinic and are now able to receive electronic discharge summaries from Queensland Health.

Files and Results
Forward Existing Results
Forward existing results is how you can attach previous results, messages and correspondence to the referral you are creating.
This way the specialist or doctor who is receiving the referral from you can also see some additional patient history, giving them a more informed view of what the patient's needs are.
If a Patient is found in the Capricorn / Satellite system then you can click on the "Fwd Result(s)" button and see a list of all results that you can forward on.
Once the "Fwd Result(s)" button is clicked, you can add or remove chosen forwarded results by moving the results from the left side to the right side and vise versa.
NOTE: Results on the right hand side will be forwarded.
You may choose to forward one or more results using the single Green arrow to select results. Alternatively you can forward all results by using the double Green arrows to select all results.
Similarly you can choose to remove forwarded results if you decide not to send them simply by using the single Red arrow to remove one result or the double Red arrows to remove all results.
NOTE: Forward existing results is a feature that is only operational when the Satellite system has been enabled in Capricorn, and you are sending to an appropriate provider.
Add Attachments
The Trinity Plus Add Attachments feature works for any message that you would like to send.
Simply click the "Add Attachments" button on the upper right of the Trinity Plus screen.
Browse for the image, pdf or rtf file that you would like to send with your referral.
After you select the file that you would like to send, an edit attached files window will appear.
From this screen you can add additional files to send or remove files that you have already added if you change your mind.
NOTE: Add Attachments is a feature that is only operational when you are sending to an appropriate provider.
