Troubleshooting Capricorn Win XP
Capricorn is used for downloading specialist, pathology and radiology reports to your clinical software. The program is designed and setup to run automatically.
Certain occurrences may have caused the software to stop running:
• PC or Server being reinstalled or replaced.
• Recent visit by your IT Technician.
• Software upgrades e.g. upgrading Medical Director 2 to Medical Director 3
• Internet connection problems.
• Firewalls
Service Install
To restart the program so that you can receive any outstanding medical results or letters follow the instructions below
1. Select Start menu →select run →type in the Open: box services.msc as below. Then select ok.
2. Look in the services window for the 'Capricorn.exe' service – as shown below. (If this is not shown in the window go to Tray Icon Install)
3. If the Service is displayed as 'Started' Please Restart the service by right-clicking Capricorn.exe and selecting Restart.
4. If the Service is displayed as 'Stopped'or is Blank, Please Start the service by right-clicking Capricorn.exe and selecting Start.
Tray Icon Install
1. If there is no tray icon displayed as shown below, please follow these steps.
2. To restart the tray icon find the program located in the Start menu → Programs or (All Programs) → Medical-Objects→ Medical-Objects Capricorn.
3. Capricorn will then appear in the system tray (bottom right corner of your screen, near date) the program is set to download automatically once started.
4. Please check your web report icon on the desktop to see if new results have arrived.
